Instagram for Business Brokers: Success Tips

After years of changes within other industries in terms of marketing, finally, the real estate industry is now reading a fresh approach to the marketing industry. Social media is a jackpot in terms of potential leads, taking for example Instagram.

Instagram is a social media platform that focuses more on images; when a user visits another user’s profile, their feed is full of images posted that came from their recent vacation or even goods they’re selling. Instagram is also highly populated with users, which so far already reached the 800 million, making it one of the best places in social media to look for leads.

Unfortunately, the demographics of Instagram target more of Millennials than Baby Boomers. But, business brokers can still leverage the tool and connect more to Millennials, since they now have a purchasing power of their own after slowly taking over Baby Boomers in jobs.

User Engagement

One of the unique selling points of social media is its ability to let everyone have direct communication and engagement with other users. As for business brokers, this lets them have various direct encounters with customers in real time, instead of waiting for a phone call or email. It’s very helpful when it’s being able to utilise since Instagram will help you reach out to a wider audience with a few tricks, such as relevant hashtags, which will be explained later, and commenting on the posts of other users.

Posting Short Videos

Instagram is not exclusively for pictures. This social media platform allows short videos and stories, which is located on the upper part of your Instagram feed, and live video function. These functions allow certain events that are best shown in a video post instead of images. As a business broker, you can use these functions to have a live showcase of a new business for sale or entertain questions and comments that you’ll read in the comments section, show behind-the-scenes footage of a life of a business broker, or deal closings of buyers and sellers.

Leverage Hashtags

Hashtags are keywords or phrases that are preceded with the hash symbol (#) symbol in order for it to stand out from all the digital noise and make searching of the certain image or video easier. By adding a hashtag, it will be indexed by social media, and here’s an example: as a business broker, if you typed #NewBusinessAhead, people who searched or clicked on that hashtag will be able to find you or posts with the similar hashtag. As for Instagram, it recommends using at least 11 hashtags for better results.

Allow Cross-Platform Postings

Having different social media platform is no problem since Instagram offers a cross-post feature that lets business brokers connect their Facebook, Twitter, and other social media accounts, making it easier and faster to post on other social networks. Before posting, make sure to check the necessary social media platforms on the lower part of the app to enable the function.

Yes, utilising Instagram helps in marketing the business and reaching to a wider audience, but it also takes a lot of effort, dedication, and passion in order to amass a following. Ultimately, it is an effective tool for melbourne business brokers to use in order to have a following in bigger states, such as Victoria, and have more opportunities in converting these leads into customers.
