Energy efficiency is a choice — more likely an obvious choice.

Converting your home into an energy efficient one comes with a lot of advantages. It’s also a win-win situation as it helps you, your pocket, and the environment at the same time.

First, an energy-efficient home will save you tons of money in the long-run on bills as it reduces energy consumption. Second, these types of homes are able to battle greenhouse gases and global warming. As inhabitants of this planet, we all know what the negative effects of global warming are.

If you’re planning to renovate your home or Buy Residential Properties Australia, here are energy efficiency tips for your home this 2019.

Tip #1: Make energy saving a habit

Change starts with you and now is the chance to get used to habits that will benefit you. There are many ways to get started:

Tip #2: Invest in a smart thermostat

Smart thermostats are a huge help, whether you’re home or away from home. This type of thermostat is embedded with technology that allows it to understand your heating patterns or routine and identifying your energy efficiency. It’s location feature also identifies if your home and or away from home, hence; preparing to heat the house when you’re near the front door and making sure that the thermostat will automatically on or off on the right time.

Tip #3: Say goodbye to the traditional boiler

It’s a common story that we forget our boilers when unused and suddenly remember its existence when needed. If you have a boiler at home, better check if it’s the traditional one. If yes, it’s time to make an upgrade.

There are energy efficient boilers available in the market. The costs may be surprising at first, but our goal is to save money in the long-run, making this a perfect solution to start the energy-saving life.

Tip #4: No more incandescent bulbs

It’s time to remove incandescent bulbs in your home as there are alternatives that consume lesser electricity and lives longer.

When shopping for new light bulbs, look for light-emitting diode (LED) bulbs since these light bulbs are able to last longer and saves more energy than incandescent bulbs. If there is no stock of LEB light bulbs, you can opt for halogen bulbs and compact fluorescent lamps (CFLs).
