Maximising your apartment space

Living in an apartment where there is limited space and there isn’t much you can do in terms of decorating due to rental rules you need to abide by, is tough. But there are ways around it. There are many ideas you can follow to personalise your living space and turn that plain old box into the perfect home.

Do it your-shelf

Floating shelves are perfect for putting lovely things on display. You can show off your collection of books, breakables, or other decorative objects. Putting up shelves also creates a unique look that isn’t only aesthetically-pleasing, but functional as well.

Dress to impress

You can turn those bare, boring windows into works of art by dressing them up with do-it-yourself curtains. If you have old skirts you are no longer using, you may cut those up and put them up the windows to create a more vibrant, dressed up look.

Personally personalised

So what if you can’t paint the walls to the colour of your choosing? You can always paint the furniture instead! Newly-painted bed frames, coffee tables, and chairs could add a multitude of colours to your small space and add more life to it. In addition, you could customise other pieces at home using stencils and some spray paint. The possibilities are endless.

Mirror, mirror on the wall

Mirrors make a huge difference in any small space. As natural light is reflected, the space feels much bigger than it really is. For best results, hang large mirrors in your apartment’s dining room, living area, or bedroom.
